These Terms of Service govern your use of the Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation website and donation platform. Please read these terms carefully before making a donation.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation (CHCDC) website and donation platform, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

Donation Processing & Payment Terms

All donations made through our website are processed securely via Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a donation, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. CHCDC does not store your payment card information on our servers.

Donations are processed in real-time, and once a donation is submitted, it cannot be cancelled or modified. All donations are final and non-refundable, except as required by law or at CHCDC's sole discretion in cases of processing errors.

Fee Disclosure

CHCDC is committed to transparency regarding all fees associated with donations. The following fees apply to all donations:

1. Platform Fee: Mammoth Websites applies a 0.5% platform fee to support the operation of this donation portal. Coppin Heights CDC receives the remaining donation amount directly.

2. Stripe Processing Fees: Stripe charges processing fees for each transaction. These fees are 2.9% of the donation amount plus $0.30 per transaction.

When you make a donation, you will be presented with the option to cover these fees. If you choose to cover fees:

• The total amount charged to your payment method will include your donation amount plus all applicable fees.

• Your full donation amount will go to CHCDC, and the fees will be paid separately.

If you choose not to cover fees:

• The fees will be deducted from your donation amount.

• Your net donation to CHCDC will be the amount you specified minus the platform fee and Stripe processing fees.

All fees are clearly displayed and calculated before you complete your donation. You will see a detailed breakdown showing your donation amount, applicable fees, and the total amount to be charged (if covering fees) or the net donation amount (if not covering fees).

Tax Deductions & Receipts

CHCDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an email receipt for your donation that can be used for tax purposes.

Please consult with a tax professional regarding the deductibility of your donation, as tax laws vary by jurisdiction and individual circumstances. CHCDC does not provide tax advice.

Recurring Donations

If you choose to set up a recurring (monthly) donation, you authorize CHCDC to charge your payment method on a monthly basis for the amount you specify. Recurring donations will continue until you cancel them.

You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us or through your account settings if available. Cancellation requests must be received at least 3 business days before your next scheduled donation to prevent that donation from being processed.

Use of Donations

Donations to CHCDC support our mission of developing and improving affordable housing in the Greater Coppin Heights/Rosemont community. While we strive to use donations for the purposes described, CHCDC reserves the right to allocate donations to areas of greatest need within our mission.

Limitation of Liability

CHCDC makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the donation platform or website. CHCDC shall not be liable for any damages resulting from the use or inability to use the donation platform, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

CHCDC is not responsible for any issues arising from third-party payment processing, including but not limited to Stripe's services, network failures, or payment processing errors.

Modifications to Terms

CHCDC reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the donation platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
